Sonic Adventure: Open Your Heart - Ch. 1

In the city known as Station Square, Sparklie just arrive in the city by riding on the train. She'd got on in time before the train head back to the city to close for the night. The tiger gets off the trains and walks out the station.

Sparklie stretches her arms a bit and said, "Finally! I made into the city... Now all I have to do is find a place to sleep." She starts to walk down the stairs of the station and begins to head towards the hotel.

However, she heard a familiar voice from behind her...

"Sparks, is that you?"

Sparklie gasp with surprise when she heard that voice. She turns around to see none other than... "Sonic?!"

Sure it enough, it is Sonic the Hedgehog, the Blue Blur.

Sonic smiles at Sparklie, feeling happy to see his old friend again for so long, "Heh! It is you, Sparks! Long time no see."

Sparklie couldn't help but smile right back at him, "Sonic... I can't believe it... It is you!" She rushes over to him and gave him a friendly hug with joy.

I'm sure most of you are wondering why she acting so happy to see Sonic, huh? Well, Sonic happens to be her first friend since they were kids and had a few adventures together. It's been years since they last seen each other.

Sonic chuckles at her reaction when she hugs him. "I guess you miss me, huh?" He smiled, hugging his childhood friend back.

Sparklie let's go of him, smiling, "Well, of course! It's been years since we last seen each other."

"So, what are you doing here in the city anyway?" Sonic asked, scratching his left ear.

Sparklie shrugs, "Oh, just gonna relax here for a bit from my travels and all. But what about you? How are things with you, Tails and Knuckles?"

"Well, Tails is at his workshop, I have no idea how Knuckles is doing... As for me, just same old things with that egghead." Sonic replied.

"Care to tell me about one of your adventures? I had none so far..." Sparklie asked.

Sonic smirks, "Sure! While we're at it, let's race through the city!" and with that, he runs off in high speed through the city.

"Sonic! Hold on!" Sparklie shouted then sighs, "...He hasn't change at all since I'd last saw him..." She quickly went after him.

Unknown to them, the same floating light was flying through the city as if it was looking for something, but what?

About 3 minutes later, Sonic and Sparklie were running across on the sides of the buildings. Sonic had told Sparklie about his adventures, even about when Dr. Robotnik created a robot version of him and save a pink hedgehog named Amy Rose.

The two speedsters leaps off the sides of the buildings and jumps from building to building until they stop on top of one.

Sparklie was panting from jumping building to building. She wasn't tired, just a bit shaken up from doing that stunt so high up. "You crazy hedgehog! I can't believe you made me do that with ya! Y'know I hate heights!" She cried.

"Oh come on, Sparks! Live a little." Sonic said, rubbing his nose.

"Live a little? ...You're such crazy hedgehog... Always doing dangerous things without thinking ahead..." Sparklie sighed.

"Hey, you know me... It's all about taking the risks." Sonic smiled.

"That's true, I guess..." Sparklie sighed, crossing her arms.

The two looks across the city.

Sonic then exclaims, "Ah, Yeah! This is happenin'!" placing his hands on his hips. He was feeling a bit excited about something as if something gonna happen soon.

Sparklie just smiles at her childhood friend.

Suddenly, they heard sirens from the streets.

"Huh?" Sonic spoke as he looks down at the streets.

Sparklie slowly looks down as well.

They saw four police cars speedy down through the streets towards the heart of the city.

Sonic and Sparklie jumps down from the building and lands on the sidewalk as the police cars drove off away.

"I wonder what's going on?" Sparklie spoke with curiosity.

"Who knows, but let's check it out and see." Sonic said to her.

The tiger nodded and the two quickly goes after the police to see what's going on at the heart of the city.

Minutes later as they got closer, as it started to rain, they heard gunshots from up ahead and soon hears the cops shouting with panic in their voices.

Sparklie glances at Sonic, "Sounds like they really need some help from something!"

"Then let's hurry and see what it is!" Sonic responded as he speeds up ahead with Sparklie in pursuit.

Once they got there, they saw not only police cars, but some sort of monster made of water with emerald green eyes.

Sonic and Sparklie skids to stop when they saw it.

"What in the world is that thing?!" Sparklie gasped.

Sonic jumps on one of the police cars, smirking with excitement, "Ah, yeah! This could be fun!"

"Will you get serious?! There's a monster over there!" Sparklie exclaimed.

Sonic wasn't listening to her, leaps off the car and lands a few feet away from the water monster, getting ready to fight it.

The monster stalk closer to Sonic and threw it's left arm by stretching it towards Sonic to grab him. Sonic easily moves out of the way by running, turns into a spin ball and does a homing attack towards it's head.

The monster groans in pain as it forms into puddle, moving away from Sonic when he lands back on the ground.

The monster forms back to it's original form and jumps up high on the poles. It then stretches its arms very fast at Sonic to get some hits.

"Whoa!" Sonic exclaimed as he dodges the arms by running.

Seeing Sonic in trouble, Sparklie leaps in to help her friend, "Hold on, Sonic!" she jumps up high to closer to the monster. "Electric Spheres!" She shoots out spheres-like of electricity at the monster, electrocuting it.

The water monster screams in pain and shock ((A/N: No pun intended)) as it got hit then fell off the pole and crashes to ground.

Sparklie lands back on the ground as it forms into a puddle again. "I guess it's really made out of water." She said while it forms back into it's original form again.

Sonic spoke to Sparklie, "Think you could hit again, Sparks?"

"Uh... Can you take a rain check?" Sparklie said with unease when she see the monster is about to use another move.

The water monster spins around while stretching it's arms out wide and spins towards the speedsters.

The two leaps up in the air to dodge the move and do the homing attacks together towards it's head. The monster screeches in pain and collapse on the ground, forming into a puddle once more.

The hedgehog and the tiger lands back on the ground.

"Did we defeated it?" Sparklie spoke as she and Sonic stares at the 'puddle'.

The monster then moves away from them as if it was getting away.

"Hey!" Sparklie exclaimed.

Sonic went after it, "Come on ya big drip! Where ya goin'?!"

The monster stops over the water vent and goes down the drain, escaping from Sonic and Sparklie.

Sparklie and Sonic stops at the drain and stares down at the drain with curiosity, feeling quite puzzle about the water monster.

"...Just what was that, Sonic?" Sparklie asked.

"Who knows... Hopefully, it's the last thing we'll see it again." Sonic answered.

Unknown to them, someone familiar was watching the whole scene from the top of the building.

It's the arch-enemy of Sonic and Sparklie, Dr. Ivo Robotnik. "You two know nothing, fool! It's Chaos! The God of Destruction!" He then cackles with evil through the night and soon left in his flying machine...
