Sonic Adventure: Open Your Heart - Prologue

Deep in the jungle of Mystic Ruin, the sun was setting as nighttime got closer and all you could see were trees, rivers and plants. Well, there's also an ancient temple, but we'll get to that later...

Everything seem quiet and peaceful then something orange was running through the jungles really fast. It was none other than Sparklie the Tiger, the Ally of Sonic the Hedgehog. The tigress was once again traveling and decided to take rest stop in a city; Station Square. Of course, she'll have to take the jungle to get the city.

"I cannot wait to rest from such long travel I had!" Sparklie said as she leaps over the river and continues on running in high speed. "Though..." She suddenly skid to stop and looks around. "...I think I'm lost..." She groaned.

She was scanning around, looking ahead to see if she can find someone to help her out of the jungle, but so far, no luck.

"You've gotta be kidding me!" Sparklie exclaimed out loud. "I know it's nighttime, but it wouldn't killed to see someone here..."

She then spots a hut in a small lake. "Huh? A hut? Which means... someone's should be here!" She walks closer to the hut.

When she pass a few trees, she soon sees a big, purple cat fishing with a green frog sitting on his head. The cat seem have his eyes closed as if he's napping while holding his fishing rod.

/Whoa... That is one big cat!/ She thought with amazement then calls out to the cat. "Excuse me!"

The big cat opens his eyes when heard Sparklie and turns his head to look at her. "Hm? Who are you?" The frog hops off his head and lands next to the cat, also looking at Sparklie.

"Um... Sorry for disturbing your fishing, but I was wondering if you can help me with something." Sparklie said, walking closer to the cat.

"Hm? What's wrong?" The cat asked.

Sparklie sheepishly looks down, feeling embarrass, "...Well, I'm lost... and I'm trying to get to a city call Station Square. Can you tell me where should I go to get out of this jungle?"

The cat reels his lure in with his fishing rod and stood up.

/Whoa! He's really tall and big!/ Sparklie thought with eyes wide open.

The cat smiles at Sparklie, "Sure. I can help you out a bit. Just follow me." The frog croaks a bit.

"Really? Thank you so much!" Sparklie smiled back.

The cat and the frog lead Sparklie through the jungle and soon stops at a ladder.

"This ladder will lead you to a mine crate and the crate will take you out of this area and to where you can take a train that will take you to the city." The cat explained.

"Oh, thank you so much for helping me." Sparklie thanked the cat with gratitude.

The cat chuckles a bit, "It's fine. Happy to help."

Sparklie was about to get on the ladder, but then stops and ask the cat, "Um... What's your name anyway?"

"Oh! My name is Big, Big the Cat." The cat, Big, introduced himself. He then lifts up the frog in his arms. "And this is my friend, Froggy."

The frog, Froggy, croaks at Sparklie as if he's saying 'hello'.

Sparklie giggles a bit, "It's nice to meet you both. I'm Sparklie the Tiger, the Ally of Sonic the Hedgehog. I hope we'll meet again in the future." She gets on the ladder. "Bye!" She starts to climbs up the ladder.

Big smiles up at her, "Bye-bye! Have a safe journey!" he looks down at Froggy "Come on, Froggy. We've better head back and gets some sleep." and heads back to his hut with Froggy his arms.

Sparklie made it to the top on the ladder and got on the ledge. "Whew! That was a long climb up..." She looks to see how high up she is. She could see above the whole jungle and see the temple.

"...I'm really high up" Sparklie said with unease. She really hates heights, but does admit the view is breath taking. "...I've better get going." She hops in the mine crate and it took the other side of the mountain.

She arrives in the main area of Mystic Ruins and got out of the crate. "Hmm... There should be a train station nearby." She spoke as she looks around to see large grassy plateau with some buildings and trees. She then spots a train station.

"Alright! Now to catch that train, get on it and head towards the city." Sparklie smiled as she runs towards the train station.

Meanwhile, from somewhere near Mystic Ruins, a familiar island was floating over the area. That island is call Angel Island, also known as Floating Island and is the home of Knuckles'. The island was just floating around as it should be, however something was heading towards that island and it looked like a flying aircraft...

On the island, Knuckles is sitting near the Master Emerald on the altar. He's been doing since... who knows how long. He never had any contract to the outside world until Dr. Robotnik came and trick into thinking Sonic and Tails are his enemies. Luckily, Sonic and Tails manages to convince the echidna that they're the good guys, but that's another story.

Anyway, Knuckles was once guarding the Master Emerald, sitting on the stairs as he thinks about something. He was thinking about how long he was on the island, wondering why he was giving such a job to protect the Master Emerald. Sadly, there were no answers to his questions...

However, unknown to him, those questions will soon be answer...

Out of the blue, something flew towards the emerald like a missile and impacts onto the emerald, making a breaking glass sound.

Knuckles quickly opens his eyes when he heard those noise. "What the?! What's going on here?!" He exclaimed as he stood up and turns around to see what happened to the Master Emerald.

He saw strange creature that looked liquify with water and has emerald green eyes. It was standing in front of the Master Emerald.

"Who are you?!" Knuckles demanded then gasp when he see the Master Emerald is broken, "Oh no! Something's happened to the Master Emerald!" then glares at the creature with anger. "Did you do this? Ohh, I'll get you for this!"

Knuckles clenches his fists and threw a quick punch at the creature, but it leaps into air very fast to dodge the punch and comes back down towards Knuckles, knocking the echidna towards the stairs.

Knuckles exclaims as he tumblers down the stairs and crashes at the bottom. He grunted and shouts, "Hey! No fair!" He quickly got up and runs up the stairs to face the creature.

However, once he got back to the top of the stairs, the creature disappear through the ground like water.

"Wait!" Knuckles yelled, but it was too late, the creature had fled before he could stop it. "What's happening to you?! Come back here!"

Knuckles glances around to see if he can find that creature, still in disbelieves of what just happened, "Wow! That was incredible! I've never seen anything like it."

Suddenly, the island shook very violently.

Knuckles gasp, knowing what's about to happen, "Oh no! It's starting to happen... Without the Master Emerald's power, this whole island will fall into the ocean!"

Unknown to him, something was floating behind his back. It was floating red light. It somehow came from the Master Emerald and floats away into the night sky.

The island starts to fall straight down where Mystic Ruins is and falls into the ocean, right next to the area of Mystic Ruins.

Few minutes earlier, right when the Master Emerald was shattered, nearby the city, two humanoid animals were heading towards that city. One was brown, male kangaroo with red boxing gloves, red shoes and wearing light gray backpack while the other seem to a young male, light gray zebra with brown stripes, two big wings with green sport gloves and orange shoes. The boys were traveling for a long time, looking for someone they know.

The winged zebra tiredly sighs, "Are we there yet, Bruncher? I'm getting tired..."

The kangaroo known as Bruncher sighs with annoyances and glances back at the zebra, "Will you just be quiet for at least five seconds? We'll be there in a few minutes!"

"That's what you said 10 minutes ago..." The zebra whined.

Bruncher stops walking and turns around to face the zebra, looking quite irritated, "Look, T.H... I am just as tired as you are, but unless you have a better idea to get there quicker, shut up!" He growled.

The zebra known as T.H, shook a bit with fear at Bruncher. "You don't have to be mean to me..." He whimpered with his ears down.

Bruncher, feeling guilty of shouting at boy like that, sighs, "...I'm sorry, T.H... I'm just little cranky from walking so far and not finding Sparklie yet at all."

Finding Sparklie? How could they known about Sparklie? Well, these two happen to be her best friends back at her village, however, she one day left her home without telling anyone which caused her mother grew to worry about Sparklie and spend the boys to find her.

T.H glances away, muttering to himself, "A little cranky... More like grouchy to a ten."

"What was that?" Bruncher glared at him.

"Nothing!" T.H nervously smiled.

He then looks up when he see something flying through the sky night. He saw a few shooting stars flying across the sky, well... more like green shooting stars.

"What was...?" T.H spoke with awed, yet with confusions as well.

Bruncher looks up to see what T.H saw, but he miss it. "What was what?"

"I... I think saw some shooting stars, but they looked green." T.H answered, unsure what just happened.

"...That's odd." Bruncher muttered than said to T.H, "You probably saw something else or seeing things since your tired." and walks ahead.

T.H shouts at Bruncher, "Hey! I was not seeing things! I know saw something, but... I'm not sure what it was." He then follows after the kangaroo.

The boys continues on forward towards the city, not knowing that they and everyone else are gonna have the biggest adventures than they ever had...
