Sonic Adventure 2: Heroes Vs Villains - Ch. 3

Just when right after T.H left to see Knuckles, Bruncher and Sparklie were headed towards the heart of the city to see Sonic. However, along the way, they spotted a crowd of people looking at a TV with the news on it.

"What's going over there?" Bruncher spoke out loud, wondering.

Sparklie shrugs, "Don't know... But let's check it out and see."

The two went over the crowd and try to see the news.

"Excuse us, people!" Bruncher shouted as he pushes through the crowd.

"Sorry! Coming through!" Sparklie shouted as she too went the through the crowd as well.

As they got to the television, what they saw was shocking...

'Sonic the Hedgehog was arrested for stealing a Chaos Emerald!'

"WHAT!?!" Both Sparklie and Bruncher shouted out loud.

The news were talking about what happened last night when a hedgehog had broke into the museum and only took the Chaos Emerald while destroying the security robots to escape. The witnesses believe it was a hedgehog with great speed, saying it was Sonic, the world's greatest hero. The news shows the picture of Sonic. However, the picture is blurry and the hedgehog's fur color seem black, not blue. But the humans can't seem to tell the differences since it was nighttime.

Sparklie then quickly yank Bruncher away from the crowd so they can talk privately about this. They stop near an alley way.

"Bruncher, that is so not Sonic!" Sparklie exclaimed.

"What makes you said that?" Bruncher spoke. "I mean, you saw the news!"

Sparklie smacks her head, "Bruncher! Isn't odd that picture is showing the color black and not blue?!"

Bruncher thought for the moment then quickly realize what she means, "No way... But that means... Wait, if it's true, how come those humans said it was Sonic?!"

"Well, it was dark and that hedgehog was moving pretty fast, so I guess they assume it was Sonic. But it's not him!" Sparklie exclaimed, knowing Sonic could never done that.

Bruncher sighs, wanted to believe Sparklie, but, "Even if it's true what you say, what proof do we have? I mean, sure that picture is showing a different color, but who else do we know is fast as Sonic and is a hedgehog?"

Sparklie looks away, trying to think, "...I don't know, but I do know it wasn't him! I know Sonic and he wouldn't do that! Which means someone is framing Sonic and the police are mistaking Sonic for the heist."

"So, what are we gonna do? I mean, we don't have enough proof it wasn't him or the location of the one who really stole the Chaos Emerald..." Bruncher pointed out.

Before, Sparklie could think, the two suddenly heard something from the sky...

"YEAH!!"

Sparklie and Bruncher quickly looks up to the sky and see Sonic falling from a military helicopter with a metal plate on his feet and falls towards the other part of the city.

"Is that hedgehog crazy?!" Sparklie yelled.

"About escaping from the police and making it worst?" Bruncher guessed.

"No... Well, that too, but falling from sky like that! He's insane! I swear that hedgehog does crazy things!" Sparklie shouted, making Bruncher sighing at his friend.

"Well, he escape from the police... What do we do now?" Bruncher asked.

Sparklie looks at Bruncher, "You go and get Tails, I have a feeling Sonic might get caught again and will need our help!"

"What about you? Wait... Are you going after Sonic?! If you do that, they'll think you're helping him escape!" Bruncher shouted.

Sparklie just shrugs, "It's gonna happen sooner or later, but right now... I need to find some proof that Sonic is innocent... See ya!" then quickly runs off through the city, leaving Bruncher standing there.

Bruncher groans after she left, "Man... I swear that girl is... Oh, well... She is right about one thing. Sonic will need our help soon and that girl always does things like this to proof her friends are not guilty." He smiled a bit then jumps off high to find Tails.

With Sparklie the Tiger, after hearing about Sonic stealing a Chaos Emerald and got arrested for it, Sparklie quickly left Bruncher to look for clues and find the one who's really responsible for stealing the emerald. She knew deep down it wasn't Sonic and wants to prove his innocents.

She ran through the city to find any proof, but she had no leads or any clues to who really stole the emerald. She quickly stop near a store, "Dang it! How am I going prove Sonic isn't really the thief? ...This is gonna be harder than I thought." She suddenly wonders about the picture, "...It did kinda look like Sonic, but that hedgehog is black, so it must've been another hedgehog with the same speed as Sonic. But who?"

Suddenly, she senses someone else nearby, looks up and spots a hedgehog on top of a store building. /What the? Was that hedgehog there before?/ She thought then wonders if that hedgehog knows anything about heist of the Chaos Emerald. /Maybe I should ask him and see.../

Sparklie walks closer to the store, but before she could call out to the hedgehog, the hedgehog suddenly turns his head around at Sparklie, looking down at her. He senses someone nearby from behind his back, staring up at him. The stare made Sparklie stops at her tracks and gaze up at him as she blushes with pink.

/...Whoa... Wh-Who is he? And why is my heart beating like crazy?!/ Sparklie thought as she still stares at him with affection in her eyes. She never felt like this before and couldn't help but stood there in one place, staring up at the hedgehog. She felt nervous, she felt excited and she felt her cheeks getting warmer.

Suddenly, the hedgehog spoke to her, "...Why are you staring at me?"

Sparklie snaps out of her trance, shaking the feeling away then answers to the hedgehog, "S-Sorry about that! I-It's just I never seen you b-before!" She stuttered. /Oh my god! Why am I stuttering?! I never stutter towards any guy before! ...And I never heard such a voice... No! Bad tiger! You just met him!/

The hedgehog just stare at her with no emotions at all which it was making her feel a bit uncomfortable. /My god... Why is he staring at me so coldly?/ She thought then jumps up to the top of the store and lands about feet away from the hedgehog. "...Um... Are you new here? 'Cause I know little about the city." Sparklie said, trying to start a conversation with the hedgehog.

The hedgehog just humphs at her and turns his back at her, looking at the city.

Sparklie slightly glares at him, /Well, isn't he nice? Maybe he's a bit shy.../ then asks, "Uh... What's your name? My name is Sparklie, Sparklie the Tiger!" She smiled holding up her hand towards him to shake her hand, but he didn't respond at all.

Sparklie quietly humphs at him, putting her hand down then tries again, "Uh... Aren't you gonna tell me your name? Unless, you don't have one... I could give you a nickname."

The hedgehog doesn't say anything to her yet again.

Sparklie's right ear went slightly down with irritations, "...Okay... Are you just passing by? Seeing a friend?"

The hedgehog continues to ignore her.

/Why isn't he saying anything to me?! That jerk! ...Calm down, Sparklie... Maybe he's a loner and never had any friends before./ She thought as she took a few breaths to calm down. She went a bit closer to him, stopping about a foot, "So, what do you like to do? I like run around a lot, traveling around the world, making new friends and I love adventures, unless it's a very high place in the sky..." She chuckled at the last part.

Once again, the hedgehog continues to ignore her.

Sparklie finally had enough and kinda shouts, "Why won't you say anything to me?!"

"...Why do you ask so many annoying questions to me?" The hedgehog spoke with annoyances in his voice.

Sparklie blinks two times at him, slightly growls and answers, "Well, you haven't say anything to me! Why are you so quiet?"

"Why are you so annoying?" The hedgehog insulted her out loud with no regrets.

"A-Annoying?! How dare you?! I am trying to be friendly and you're acting like a jerk!" Sparklie exclaimed with anger.

The hedgehog humphs at her with no concerns, "Hm! You should know not everyone is friendly, so do me a favor and go play with your doll, you weak girl."

Sparklie's eyes went big with shock then snarls at him with anger, "Why you... HOW DARE YOU JUDGE ME?! I'LL HAVE YOU KNOW THAT I HAPPEN TO BE STRONG!!"

The hedgehog just scoffs at her, smirking, "You, strong? What can a girl like you do?"

"Do not tempt me, hedgehog..." Sparklie growled as her fingers twitches with electric waves coming out. "...I have the power to shock your world..."

The hedgehog turns around, facing her with no worries at all, looking interest, "...Then just try to shock my world."

Sparklie sneers at him, "Fine... You ask for it. Electric Spheres!" then shoots out sphere-like electricity straight at him.

Suddenly, the hedgehog swiftly dodge the attack, moving at a high speed and stops right behind her. "Not bad... for weak girl." He spoke right next her head.

She felt chill down her spine then swiftly swings her left foot at the hedgehog to hit him hard, "Up yours!!"

She nearly got him, but he swiftly duck down and reappears again behind her again, grabbing her arms with his left hand and wraps his right arm around her neck, tighten his arm. "Has electric attacks and a fast kick... Not bad at all. But you're still just a weak girl who knows nothing about the world at all... You think you could befriended any person you want?" he tightens his right grip around her neck, making her grunted with pain.

"Gah! Hands off! You know nothing about me!" Sparklie growled. /I-I can't believe I felt towards this guy... I swear if he doesn't let go of me, I'll make him pay dearly!/

"...Pathetic... You should just go home and stay there... You'll be a problem to the world." The hedgehog bluntly said with no feelings at all.

Sparklie's golden eyes shrink down a bit with rage, /How dare he.../ She then hears words in her head.

...Chaos Static...

Sparklie grunted, closers her eyes as her Chaos Bow glows brightly when she starts to focus, "...Chaos Static!" Suddenly, electric waves went through her body and then the hedgehog feels himself getting shock many times against her body.

He exclaims as he quickly let's go of her, kneeling down on one knee as he's panting in agony.

Sparklie steps away from him, very surprise of what just happened. "...How did I...do that?"

The hedgehog tries to move, but his body feel like it's paralyze from electric attack of Sparklie. /...I can't move my body at all... This tiger is a lot stronger than I thought.../

Sparklie, even though she's still angry at him, feels a bit worry about him and took two steps towards him, "Are you...okay?"

The hedgehog just scoffs at her, "I just...insulted you and you wanted to know...I'm alright?"

"Well... I'm not cold-hearted person... Sure I'm angry at you, but I still have a heart." Sparklie said as she gotten closer to him and kneels down to him. "Can you move?"

The hedgehog grunted in agony and slowly stood up, "...I'm fine."

Sparklie stood up as well, smiling with relief, "That's good... But next time don't go judging someone by their looks, get to know them first!"

The hedgehog closes his eyes for a sec and opens them again, staring straight at Sparklie.

Sparklie blinks three times, feeling her cheeks getting warmer again, /Oh god... Here's that feeling again! Why am I feeling like this towards him?! And why is my heart beating like crazy?!/ She thought as she stares back at him, looking at his red eyes. /...Wow... I never seen such eyes.../

The hedgehog then smirks at her, "...I knew you were strong... I just wanted to test you how strong you are."

"Say what?! You stupid jerk..." She grumbled, glancing away from him. /That stupid black hedgehog! Who does he think--/ Suddenly her eyes went wide with shock, realizing something. /Wait... Black? A hedgehog that is fast as Sonic and has black fur... No way!/ Then the rubies on her boots blinks many times, meaning a Chaos Emerald is nearby.

Suddenly, they hear sirens far ahead. "...I guess it's time I should run..." The hedgehog was about to leave.

"Wait a minute! Do you happened to have a Chaos Emerald with you?" Sparklie asked.

The hedgehog glances at her then show a green Chaos Emerald to her in his right hand.

Sparklie gasps with full surprise, "...It was you... You're the one who stole the Chaos Emerald!"

"...My name is Shadow..."

"What?" Sparklie said, looking confused.

"You wanted to know my name, right? My name is Shadow, I'm the world's Ultimate Life Form." The hedgehog, Shadow, introduce himself, smirking a bit.

"Ultimate Life Form?" Sparklie repeated, tilted her head.

Shadow closes his eyes, "This is farewell for now... But we will meet again... Sparklie... Chaos Control!" The Chaos Emerald shine brightly then in a split seconds, he and the emerald disappears with a trace.

"Huh?! What was that?!" Sparklie shouted, feeling flabbergasted. "...I can't believe I didn't notice it sooner! That hedgehog is the same one who stole the Chaos Emerald and now he's gone! Dang it! I should've stop him..."

She then remembers his looks, his voice, his eyes and his name, "...Shadow... It matches him very well. Why do I feel this way towards him? Just who he is exactly and why did he stole that Chaos Emerald?" She pondered as she paces back and forth.

She then stop pacing, clenching her left fist, "There's only one way to find out... I have to find him!" Suddenly, the police cars passes by. "...But first... I have to find Sonic and get him away from the police." And with that, she quickly left to find Sonic.

Unknown to her, Rascal was watching the whole scene from a tall building. "Hmmm... It seem tiger girl has a thing for that black hedgehog... This should make things more interesting... However, I hope her feeling won't get hurt by him. Even though I despise her, I can't stand seeing a girl with broken heart." Rascal quietly said to herself.

"Oh, well... No need to worry about that now... I have a black hedgehog to find. It's good thing Caper send me a message before I bump into that hedgehog." Rascal sighed then began to look for Shadow...
